In NC we stayed at Hannah's "Uncle" Dave's "cabin" (if you look at the pictures you will understand the "") and we took day hikes and just relaxed around the house for a few days. The first night we hung out with Dave and his wife but after that we had the cabin to ourselves. I will post a few pictures of our trip in this post but if you want to see more please visit http://picasaweb.google.com/MichaelDavidVeldstra/NCPAVacation2009#.
On Wednesday we left NC for Harrisburg, PA to spend sometime at Hannah's brother Caleb's house. He took us out to dinner that evening, the next morning he had to travel for work but let us stay for another night. On Thursday Hannah's old roommate Kristen and her brother came who live in PA about 2 hours away. We did a lot of sight seeing on Thursday. We went to the Hershey Plant, National Civil War Museum, State Capitol Building, and Gettysburg. It rained the entire time while we were at Gettysburg which was a bummer but the Civil War Museum and Capital Building was very interesting. That night Kristen and her brother left.
Early Friday morning we left for MI but decided to drive up through Canada and perhaps stop and see Niagara Falls. Driving through PA and NY was absolutely gorgeous, but Niagara was a complete let down. We didn't even stop and park to take a picture because it cost 16 dollars to park!! That's a rip off. It was way too touristy also. We were much more impressed with the waterfall you saw above because it was much more secluded and we were the only ones there.
After getting back into MI we went to see Hannah's brothers play club soccer and we saw Micah score his first goal ever. On Saturday it was Sam's open house for graduation and we helped out with that and did some relaxing also.
We are now back in our apartment getting unpacked and what not, but we are still in vacation mode and not much has gotten done. We are still excited and nervous about moving to Utah, but more excited then nervous. We still a lot of more decisions to make and things to take care of before we move so please continue to keep us in your prayers.
whoa! Looks like so much fun!
