Thats right...next Wednesday we will be heading to California to see our beautiful nephew and niece(who has yet to pop out as of this post). This past week I was sick...and actually left early on Wednesday...and I was sick Thursday..but not at school but when I got home again. On Friday, we had dinner at Hannah's friend Becky and it just happened to be her families night to feed the LDS missionaries. But..it was not that bad...we were very civil in our conversation and they actually left early and we played games with Becky and her family...and it was quite enjoyable. After and before the dinner Hannah and I were talking about what God's purpose for sending us to Utah was...we still doing have a complete answer...but one answer we are completely sure of is that God sent us here to challenge us and to show us that we need to completely depend on Him. We have realized while living here in Utah that we have never been challenged in our faith...we have always lived with other Christians and we have never been the minority religion...and you know what...it is HARD being in the minority..but it is also amazing..because it strengthens your faith and teaches you to trust fully in God. We realize the chances of "converting" Becky are slim, but we have also realized that we do not convert people but God does...all we can do is show people the truth...talk about our beliefs...but it is only GOD that does the converting..and works in their hearts. Anyway...that is my little rant...and I love that fact that we have such an amazing and powerful God...even though we may feel sad that he may/will send some of friends here in Utah to hell....but who are we to judge God and His decisions??
On Saturday...it snowed A LOT...but it was good..because we had a nice chill morning of relaxation...that night we and Becky took the train into the city and had dinner and visited the temple to see the lights. The evening was fun...dinner was good and the conversation was good...but the lights at the temple were disappointing...I thought there would be more...and the nativity was kinda cheesy(which should have been expected since most LDS decorations are). On Sunday(today), we went to church...but not the 9 am service because (A) we slept in and (B) the roads were AWFUL...but we made it to church and back safely. This after we just chilled. We are not really looking forward to teaching this week...but we will get through it. We are excited to be in California next week though. Thank you all for reading this blog...and we continue to ask for your prayers..and we will always keep you in our prayer.
